FreelancerTax is a free set of Korea freelancer tax calculators for 3.3% withholding, income tax refund, business profit, and VAT.
Every calculation runs in your browser, transparently based on the rates and formulas of official authorities.
What FreelancerTax is
FreelancerTax is a free set of tools that helps freelancers, one-person businesses, and side-hustlers handle the tax calculations they face most often, quickly and easily. It covers the frequently confusing 3.3% withholding, income tax filing and refunds, business profit, and VAT, presented alongside the formulas so anyone can follow along.
Operating principles (E-E-A-T)
- Experience — we mirror the item structure used in real tax invoices, withholding receipts, and income tax returns, and break results down item by item.
- Expertise — we calculate using official rates and formulas: 3.3% personal-service withholding, the 6–45% progressive income tax, the 10% local income tax, and the 10% VAT.
- Authoritativeness — we point to the standards and source links of official authorities such as the National Tax Service.
- Trustworthiness — we never hide the formulas, we clearly flag items that are estimates, and we do not collect or store your inputs.
Data sources
The rates and standards used in each calculator are based on the following official sources. Rates may change each year and are updated to the latest values when they do.
- National Tax Service Hometax — filing and payment of withholding, income tax, and VAT
- National Tax Service — income tax rate table, simplified and standard expense rates
A note on accuracy
All FreelancerTax results are reference estimates based on your inputs and published formulas. In particular, the income tax / refund calculation does not reflect tax credits or additional income deductions, so it may differ from your actual tax. Actual figures vary with the expense-recognition method (books vs. expense rates), dependents, other combined income, and tax credits, so confirm the final figure with an official authority or a tax professional.
